Axel's take: 7.3/10

A convenient city base with helpful staff, but rooms lag behind refreshed public spaces. A practical 4-star convention hotel just outside Old Québec, scored for what it is.

Delta Québec is a practical 4-star convention hotel: we'd choose it for convenient sightseeing and business trips, not a polished luxury stay. Old Québec is roughly a 10–15-minute walk away, and an underground connection serves the convention centre. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff and comfortable beds. Marriott confirms refreshed public spaces, while the year-round heated outdoor pool adds something beyond the business-hotel basics.

The catch is upstairs. Recent guests across several sites still describe dated rooms, worn carpets and maintenance niggles; the public-area refresh doesn't mean renovated bedrooms. Cleanliness feedback is mostly positive, but not uniformly so. Reaching rooms also involves changing elevators, with some recent reports of breakdowns. Parking costs extra. It's a reasonable base if location matters more than décor; we'd skip it for a special-occasion stay or consistently fresh four-star interiors.

• Best for: Convention attendees; Sightseers happy to walk; Families wanting an outdoor pool

• Watch out for: Dated rooms and worn carpets; Elevator changes and reported breakdowns; Paid parking

• Location: Outside the old walls, around 10–15 minutes on foot from Old Québec; underground convention-centre access.

• Rooms: Comfortable beds earn praise, but dated décor, worn carpeting and maintenance issues recur.

• Cleanliness: Generally positive feedback, tempered by recurring complaints about carpets and occasional mustiness.

• Service: Helpful front-desk and concierge staff are a consistent strength; restaurant feedback is less dependable.

• Amenities: Year-round heated outdoor pool, gym and Le Bistro; public and meeting spaces have been refreshed.

• Fees and surprises: Parking and pets cost extra; studded tires are prohibited in the underground garage.
