#7 of 9 hotels in Smíchov & Anděl by Axel's take. Smíchov & Anděl is #6 of 9 places to stay in Prague. The best hotels in Smíchov & Anděl, ranked · Where to stay in Prague

Axel's take: 8.3/10

Comfortable rooms and strong breakfasts, with a tram ride between you and Old Town. a large, practical 4-star in Prague’s Smíchov district, scored for what it is.

NH Prague City is a large, practical 4-star in Smíchov, and we’d pick it for comfortable space rather than historic Prague atmosphere. Booking.com’s strong cleanliness and comfort scores match the broadly positive picture on Expedia and Tripadvisor: guests regularly praise roomy accommodation, comfortable beds and helpful staff. Breakfast is another consistent strength. The private cable car to the sister NH Collection hotel uphill adds something distinctive to an otherwise straightforward city hotel.

The trade-off is location: Anděl’s shops, trams and metro are handy, but this isn’t a step-out-into-Old-Town address. Road-facing rooms can suffer traffic noise, so we’d request a hill-facing room. Although NH says rooms were recently renovated, some recent guests still describe dated details and maintenance lapses. Parking costs extra. Skip it if historic surroundings and sightseeing entirely on foot matter most.

  • Best for: business travelers; families wanting more room; sightseers comfortable using public transport

  • Watch out for: traffic noise in road-facing rooms; outside the historic core; some reports of dated details and maintenance lapses

  • Location: Smíchov shops and restaurants nearby; allow roughly 10 minutes on foot to Anděl metro.

  • Rooms: Generally spacious and comfortable; NH reports renovations, though recent condition feedback remains uneven.

  • Cleanliness: Strong overall ratings and frequent praise, with occasional recent housekeeping misses.

  • Service: Mostly helpful and professional, including praise for problem-solving; a few uneven reception encounters.

  • Amenities: Free gym, sauna and steam bath; breakfast buffet, bar and cable car to the sister property.

  • Fees and surprises: Garage parking and pets cost extra; parking cannot be reserved, and breakfast inclusion depends on the booking.
