A strong downtown base, but rooftop renovations limit its leisure appeal An upscale 4-star downtown business and convention hotel, scored for what it is.

This upscale 4-star convention hotel is a strong pick for downtown Phoenix, especially when walking to meetings, restaurants or a game matters more than resort-style downtime. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the welcoming staff, comfortable beds and generally clean rooms. Recent Expedia reviews remain enthusiastic, and the downstairs Starbucks adds everyday convenience. We'd choose it for a well-located business trip or event weekend.

The important catch is the rooftop renovation: Marriott confirms both the rooftop and pool are unavailable, with reopening planned for early 2027. Expedia lists work affecting the pool and bar/lounge through February 28, 2027, subject to change. A nightly destination fee and paid valet also weaken the value. We'd skip it for a pool-focused break, and confirm construction impacts before booking if daytime quiet matters.
