8.9/10
A strong campus-side choice with comfortable rooms and unusually consistent praise for staff.
The Study is a bookish, upscale 4-star hotel that makes particular sense for Penn, Drexel and nearby hospital visits. We'd pick it for the fundamentals: Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff, with recent reviews reinforcing that picture. The library-style lobby gives you somewhere inviting to work or decompress, while CO-OP adds a well-liked restaurant downstairs. Complimentary morning coffee and a 24-hour gym round out a thoughtfully equipped stay.
The trade-offs are mostly practical rather than serious flaws. Valet parking costs extra, pets carry a fee, and the hotel's own guest guide says housekeeping is available on request, so arrange it rather than assume daily service. We'd look elsewhere if your priority is stepping straight into Center City's sightseeing core; for university business, this location is the point.
