Hotels in Parisa compact, contemporary 3-star near Canal Saint-Martin
8.4/10
A friendly, well-connected Paris base, provided you pack light.
Magenta 38 is a contemporary 3-star near Canal Saint-Martin, and a strong pick for travelers who prioritize clean rooms, helpful staff and easy transport over space. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise the welcome and cleanliness; complimentary lobby drinks and an interior patio add useful extras. Jacques Bonsergent metro and Gare de l’Est are conveniently close.
The main compromise is room size: classic doubles are just 11 square meters, and guests mention limited storage. Choose a larger category if you have substantial luggage. The boulevard setting is busy rather than secluded. Renovation complaints from 2025 appear superseded by refreshed-room feedback and September 2026 photography documenting completed room and breakfast-area work. We’d skip it if generous space or a hushed neighborhood matters most.
