#6 of 6 hotels in Warm Sands by Axel's take. Warm Sands is #5 of 5 places to stay in Palm Springs. The best hotels in Warm Sands, ranked · Where to stay in Palm Springs

Axel's take: 6.6/10

A handy budget base, but upkeep and cleanliness are inconsistent. A no-frills 2-star motel near downtown Palm Springs, scored for what it is.

This no-frills 2-star motel makes its strongest case with location: downtown restaurants, shops and bars are within walking distance. We'd consider it for a short budget stay rather than a poolside vacation. Recent Expedia guests frequently praise helpful staff and clean rooms, while the official site confirms an outdoor pool, pet-friendly rooms and guest laundry. The appeal is straightforward convenience, not much beyond the basics.

The catch is inconsistent upkeep. Tripadvisor guests report dirty rooms and maintenance failures, while even positive Expedia reviews mention worn interiors and grounds needing attention. Several guests also mention loitering, though others explicitly felt safe. Parking now carries a charge, and a recent elevator complaint conflicts with the advertised amenity—confirm access if stairs are a problem. We'd skip it if dependable housekeeping or a quiet, polished setting matters most.

  • Best for: Budget travelers on short stays; Visitors prioritizing downtown access; Travelers with pets

  • Watch out for: Uneven housekeeping and maintenance; Parking costs extra; Confirm elevator access before booking

  • Location: Walkable to downtown dining and nightlife; some guests mention loitering around the property.

  • Rooms: Basic, worn interiors; maintenance and air-conditioning reports vary.

  • Cleanliness: Many recent guests report clean rooms, but complaints about dirty rooms and grounds persist.

  • Service: Recent Expedia reviews often praise staff; Tripadvisor reports less reliable problem handling.

  • Amenities: Outdoor pool, free Wi-Fi and coin laundry; no breakfast, and hot-tub availability is unconfirmed.

  • Fees and surprises: Expedia lists paid parking; the advertised elevator's availability needs confirmation.
