First Hotel Millennium is a simple, older mid-range hotel whose strongest asset is its central Oslo location. We'd consider it for a sightseeing break rather than a hotel-focused stay: Karl Johans gate, public transport and the waterfront are within easy reach. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently rate the location and staff above the facilities, while breakfast earns repeated praise. It's a sensible choice if convenience matters more than fresh interiors.

The trade-off is wear: dated furniture and bathrooms recur across reviews, alongside some reports of street noise and uncomfortable summer heat. Don't assume the catalog's air conditioning is available; the hotel's Booking.com response says otherwise. New owners announced a major upgrade in February 2026, but we couldn't confirm its timing or completion. We'd skip it if modern rooms, reliable cooling or quiet nights are priorities.
