#1 of 9 hotels in Karl Johan & Stortinget by Axel's take. Karl Johan & Stortinget is #1 of 12 places to stay in Oslo. The best hotels in Karl Johan & Stortinget, ranked · Where to stay in Oslo
Axel's take: 9.1/10
Classic Oslo luxury that earns its reputation through service, comfort and location. a historic five-star city hotel in central Oslo, scored for what it is.
Hotel Continental is a historic five-star city hotel, and a strong pick for travelers who want traditional luxury without sacrificing convenience. Recent Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise attentive staff, comfortable beds, cleanliness and breakfast. Opposite Nationaltheatret, it makes sightseeing and airport-train connections straightforward. Theatercaféen and the hotel's bars give it more character than a generic luxury chain.
Choose your room carefully: Petite doubles are just 20 square meters, and the hotel explicitly warns that selected rooms sold under its Party Next Door package hear event music after midnight. Light sleepers should request a room away from events and street noise. There's a small 24-hour gym but no spa, so we'd choose elsewhere for a wellness-focused stay. Paid parking is limited and requires advance booking.
