Axel's take: 8.6/10

A strong luxury family resort, though service isn't always as polished as the setting. a five-star lakeside resort with extensive family facilities, scored for what it is.

This five-star lakeside resort is a strong pick if you'll actually use its grounds, pools and activities. Expedia and Booking.com guests consistently praise clean, comfortable rooms and welcoming staff, while Tripadvisor reviews give the Club Lounge particular credit. We'd choose it for a family vacation with proper resort days: the spa, golf and access to the neighboring JW Marriott's lazy river and waterslides give it appeal beyond the theme parks.

The trade-off is that luxury-level consistency isn't guaranteed. Some recent Tripadvisor guests describe slow pool service and delayed housekeeping, despite the broadly positive feedback. Resort fees and valet-only parking add to the bill, and guaranteed connecting rooms cost extra. We'd skip it for a parks-only itinerary or an adults-only escape; this is a large, family-oriented resort rather than an intimate retreat.

• Best for: families mixing pool days with theme parks; spa and golf enthusiasts; travelers considering Club Level

• Watch out for: resort fee and valet-only parking; occasional service and housekeeping delays; extra charge for guaranteed connecting rooms

• Location: Expansive lakeside grounds; theme-park visits require transportation rather than a walk.

• Rooms: Generally comfortable and spacious; guests particularly praise beds, though some find standard rooms unremarkable for the brand.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall across Expedia and Booking.com; isolated bathroom-maintenance complaints don't define the broader feedback.

• Service: Warm staff and Club Lounge service earn praise, with some recent reports of pool-service and housekeeping delays.

• Amenities: Spa, golf, family activities and pools, plus access to the neighboring JW Marriott's lazy river and waterslides.

• Fees and surprises: Daily resort fee, paid valet-only parking and charges for guaranteed connecting rooms; meeting-space renovations were reported complete in September 2026.
