Axel's take: 8.9/10

A strong family base near Disney, with spacious villas rather than full-service hotel polish. an upper-midrange, condo-style vacation club resort near Disney, scored for what it is.

Marriott’s Sabal Palms is an upper-midrange vacation club resort, not a conventional four-star hotel, and it delivers particularly well for families wanting room to spread out. Two-bedroom, two-bathroom villas come with full kitchens, laundry and outdoor space. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the cleanliness, comfortable accommodations and helpful staff. We'd pick it for longer Disney trips where cooking and washing clothes make life easier.

The trade-off is a more self-sufficient stay: Marriott lists housekeeping every other day, parking costs extra, and checkout is at 10 a.m. Dining means cooking or heading to the neighboring World Center Marriott, whose amenities add appeal—but waterpark access is not included. We'd skip it for a walk-everywhere holiday or full-service luxury; travelers who cannot manage stairs should arrange ground-floor accommodation because there are no elevators.

• Best for: families visiting Disney; longer self-catering stays; groups wanting separate bedrooms

• Watch out for: paid parking and 10 a.m. checkout; no elevators; World Center waterpark access excluded

• Location: Convenient for Disney by car or rideshare; not a walk-to-the-parks location.

• Rooms: Spacious two-bedroom villas with two bathrooms, full kitchens, washer-dryers and balconies or patios.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength in recent Tripadvisor, Expedia and Hotels.com feedback.

• Service: Guests regularly praise friendly front-desk staff; housekeeping is listed every other day.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, whirlpool, gym and sports courts; neighboring World Center amenities exclude its waterpark.

• Fees and surprises: No resort fee, but daily parking charges apply; no elevators and checkout is at 10 a.m.
