Axel's take: 8.6/10

A strong family base for villa space and pool days, with timeshare-resort trade-offs. a sprawling 4-star vacation-ownership resort with family villas, scored for what it is.

Marriott’s Grande Vista is a sprawling 4-star vacation-ownership resort, not a conventional full-service hotel. It’s a strong pick for families who want space between park days: the one- to three-bedroom villas have full kitchens, laundry and separate living areas. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean accommodation, helpful staff and the pools. Golf, children’s activities and several dining options make staying on-site worthwhile, rather than merely convenient.

The trade-offs are practical: parking costs extra, housekeeping is every other day, and checkout is at 10 a.m. Some guests report frustrating check-in waits or timeshare-sales approaches; occasional noise complaints also temper the otherwise strong feedback. Check the accommodation type carefully—standard guestrooms are not full villas. We’d choose it for a longer family stay with a car or rideshare budget, but skip it for walkable sightseeing or daily hotel-style service.

• Best for: families wanting kitchen and laundry facilities; multigenerational park vacations; pool days between theme parks

• Watch out for: paid parking and early checkout; timeshare-sales approaches; standard guestrooms lack full-villa facilities

• Location: Near SeaWorld and International Drive; plan on driving or rideshares for park visits.

• Rooms: Spacious villas offer kitchens and laundry; smaller guestrooms are a different proposition.

• Cleanliness: Recent feedback is strongly positive overall, despite occasional musty-room complaints.

• Service: Staff earn frequent praise, though check-in and problem handling receive some criticism.

• Amenities: Multiple pools, children's recreation, nine-hole golf, a gym, spa and casual dining.

• Fees and surprises: No resort fee; parking is charged, housekeeping is every other day, and checkout is at 10 a.m.
