Axel's take: 8.0/10

A practical I-Drive budget base, with friendly staff but some noisy rooms. a budget, motel-style 2-star just off International Drive, scored for what it is.

Mai Hana is a budget, motel-style hotel with exterior room entrances, and it's a strong pick for travelers spending their days out. The hotel says it completed renovations in July 2025. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests regularly praise helpful staff, comfortable beds and the walkable location near ICON Park and restaurants. Breakfast, parking and an outdoor pool make it good value for its class.

The renovation hasn't eliminated every rough edge. Guests report late-night traffic and music, particularly in rooms facing International Drive, while bathroom plumbing and room upkeep draw some complaints across Tripadvisor and Trip.com. Expedia also lists a mandatory nightly resort fee and a deposit, despite the hotel's emphasis on free extras. We'd choose it for a practical park-hopping trip, but skip it if quiet nights or consistently polished rooms are priorities.

• Best for: budget-conscious park hoppers; families wanting breakfast and a pool; travelers who like walking to restaurants

• Watch out for: late-night noise in I-Drive-facing rooms; mandatory nightly resort fee and deposit; uneven bathroom maintenance

• Location: Walkable to ICON Park, restaurants and I-Drive entertainment; theme parks require transport.

• Rooms: Exterior-entry rooms with microwaves and fridges; comfortable beds earn praise, but bathrooms can disappoint.

• Cleanliness: Generally positive recent feedback, with some housekeeping lapses rather than uniformly spotless rooms.

• Service: Helpful, welcoming front-desk and breakfast staff are recurring strengths.

• Amenities: Breakfast, outdoor pool, gym and advertised free shuttle; confirm shuttle destinations and times.

• Fees and surprises: Expedia lists a nightly resort fee and deposit; parking is advertised as free.
