Axel's take: 9.1/10
Grand bank architecture and genuinely warm service make this a standout downtown stay. a historic upscale 4-star in downtown Oklahoma City, scored for what it is.
The National is a historic upscale 4-star in a restored Art Deco bank, and we'd put it high on the downtown shortlist. The soaring Great Hall and cocktail lounge behind original vault doors give it character beyond the usual business hotel. More importantly, Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise welcoming staff, comfortable rooms and cleanliness. It's a strong pick for a couples' weekend or a downtown work trip with somewhere memorable to unwind.
The trade-offs are mostly practical: parking and breakfast cost extra, and there's no pool or full-service spa. A few Tripadvisor guests describe housekeeping misses or valet delays, but those aren't the dominant story across sites. We'd skip it if swimming or resort-style facilities matter more than architecture, dining and a walkable downtown base.
