Axel's take: 8.1/10

Book it for the falls views, not flawless four-star polish. A full-service 4-star overlooking Horseshoe Falls in Ontario, Canada, scored for what it is.

This full-service 4-star is in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada—not the United States—and it's a strong pick if seeing Horseshoe Falls from your room is the priority. We'd book a high-floor Fallsview category specifically; city-view rooms miss the main attraction. Recent Expedia and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise comfortable beds, clean rooms and friendly staff. An indoor pool, whirlpool, gym and several dining options make it a practical sightseeing base.

The trade-off is a busy large hotel rather than a polished retreat. Elevator waits recur across Booking.com and Tripadvisor, while some guests find the rooms dated or maintenance uneven. Parking is expensive, and breakfast and in-room Wi-Fi aren't automatically included with every booking. We'd skip it if you want fresh interiors and a quiet boutique atmosphere; choose it when the view matters most.

• Best for: First-time visitors prioritizing falls views; Couples booking high-floor Fallsview rooms; Convention Centre attendees

• Watch out for: Elevator queues at busy times; Expensive parking and booking-dependent extras; Some dated rooms and uneven maintenance

• Location: On the Canadian side, overlooking Horseshoe Falls and steps from the Convention Centre.

• Rooms: Comfortable beds and generous space earn praise; reserve Fallsview explicitly, and expect some dated finishes.

• Cleanliness: Generally praised in recent reviews, despite occasional carpet and window-cleaning complaints.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength, though busy-period experiences vary.

• Amenities: Indoor pool, whirlpool, gym and dining on site; Burning Springs Spa is across the street at the sister Marriott.

• Fees and surprises: Parking costs extra; check breakfast inclusion and Wi-Fi terms, with complimentary in-room internet offered to Bonvoy members booking direct.
