Axel's take: 8.2/10

A strong budget base for drivers, with breakfast and a pool adding value. a budget chain hotel on Niagara Falls Boulevard, scored for what it is.

Best Western Summit Inn is a budget chain hotel on Niagara Falls Boulevard, and we'd put it on the shortlist for a straightforward, good-value stay with a car. Tripadvisor, Booking.com and recent Expedia guests consistently praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff. Included breakfast, free parking and an indoor pool make it especially practical for families who would rather spend on sightseeing than a downtown address.

The compromise is location: plan on roughly 15–20 minutes driving to the falls, rather than walking out to them. Some guests report noisy bathroom fans or heating units, so light sleepers should request a quiet room away from the elevator. The gym is basic, and this is not a full-service hotel. We'd skip it for a car-free trip or a stay where atmosphere matters more than dependable basics.

• Best for: budget-conscious families with a car; short Niagara sightseeing trips; outlet-shopping breaks

• Watch out for: a drive rather than a walk to the falls; some reports of noisy fans and heating; basic gym and limited-service setup

• Location: Practical for shopping and the airport; allow roughly 15–20 minutes driving to the falls.

• Rooms: Simple, generally comfortable rooms with refrigerators; some guests flag mechanical noise.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across sites, including recent Expedia reviews.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff receive repeated praise, particularly for local advice.

• Amenities: Included breakfast, indoor heated pool, small gym, game room and free Wi-Fi.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is free; early check-in carries a surcharge and requires confirmation.
