Axel's take: 4.9/10

Free parking helps, but unreliable cleanliness and upkeep make this a tough sell. A basic independent roadside motel outside downtown Niagara Falls, scored for what it is.

Caravan Motel is a basic roadside motel on Niagara Falls Boulevard, roughly a ten-minute drive from the state park. Free parking and Wi-Fi are useful, and some guests report clean beds and friendly check-in. But even against simple motel expectations, we'd look elsewhere first: Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor ratings consistently point to a property that struggles with the basics.

Recent reviews describe worn rooms, uneven cleaning and maintenance problems, including unreliable air conditioning. Service varies from helpful to dismissive, with complaints about slow reception and poor problem handling. A seasonal outdoor pool is advertised, but guests have reported it unavailable; confirm before counting on it. It's a possible short stop for undemanding drivers, not a strong choice for families wanting dependable comfort or travelers hoping to walk to the falls.

• Best for: Undemanding drivers making a short stop; Travelers prioritizing free parking

• Watch out for: Recurring cleanliness and maintenance complaints; Inconsistent reception and problem handling; Pool availability needs confirmation

• Location: On Niagara Falls Boulevard near shops; the falls are a drive away, not a convenient walk.

• Rooms: Basic, compact rooms; recent guests report wear and unreliable equipment despite some apparent updates.

• Cleanliness: Some clean-room reports, but repeated complaints make housekeeping a significant concern.

• Service: Friendly check-ins coexist with reports of reception waits and unhelpful responses.

• Amenities: Free parking and Wi-Fi; a seasonal outdoor pool is listed, but operation is uncertain.

• Fees and surprises: Expedia lists a late-checkout charge and no after-hours check-in; confirm arrival arrangements directly.
