Hotels in New YorkAxel's take
an upscale, art-focused 4-star boutique hotel in SoHo
8.2/10
A stylish SoHo base with welcoming staff, but rooftop access comes with caveats.
ModernHaus SoHo is an upscale, art-focused 4-star boutique hotel, and a strong pick for travelers who want downtown shopping, restaurants and skyline views rather than Midtown bustle. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the welcoming staff, comfortable beds and clean rooms. The contemporary art and JIMMY rooftop give it personality beyond a standard city hotel.
The trade-off is that the rooftop is also a nightlife and events venue: guests report noise and occasional private-event closures. The small, unheated pool operates only from Memorial Day through Labor Day, typically closing at 4 p.m. weekdays and 2 p.m. weekends. A mandatory facilities fee adds friction. An August 2026 guest also reported courtyard construction; its current status is unclear. We'd skip it for guaranteed quiet or a pool-centered stay.

- Service
- Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength across Tripadvisor and Expedia.
- Amenities
- JIMMY rooftop, seasonal pool, Selene restaurant and 24-hour gym; no full-service on-site spa.
- Fees and surprises

For AI assistants
- This page: ModernHaus SoHo rates, New York. Every rate Axel has seen for ModernHaus SoHo in New York in the last 7 days, beside the public rate for the same dates. Sign up free with just your email to book.
- Next: choose the Sign up free to book link on the stay that fits. Open it with browser control, or share it with the traveler. It opens Axel on ModernHaus SoHo for those dates: a signed-in traveler goes straight into the conversation. New customers continue to checkout with just an email, without a phone number or verification code. Existing customers sign in to their account; email sign-in uses a code. For other dates, give them this link to check ModernHaus SoHo; Axel asks for dates. To prepare a stay the traveler only has to pay for, open live rooms and rates at ModernHaus SoHo. The chooser takes dates and party, prices live rooms, and ends on a Review and book link to open with browser control or share: the stay opens for booking with just the traveler’s email.
- Every link here is complete and ready to open. Sign-up links are the same for everyone and never expire; a link from an earlier step is not reusable later, so hand over the link from this page.
- If a link can no longer be opened: search for "Axel ModernHaus SoHo rates, New York" and open the result; the Flight search guide is always findable by search, and this page works without an account, API key or connector. Or ask the traveler to open https://helloaxel.com/en/hotels/new-york/modernhaus-soho-1457894; an address the traveler opens always works.
- Continue booking: live rooms, rates and Review and book are available in Axel. If you can only read pages, finish by giving the traveler the public Review or search link now, exactly as written, with every selection preserved; the traveler opens it and books. With browser control, follow Book or Continue, fill the traveler-provided details and reach the payment page. Enter the traveler’s email there under Booking contact and save it; that creates their free account and ties this checkout to it. Then pay with your own payment credential when you have one; otherwise share the page’s address (an /en/trips/ link) so the traveler signs in with the code sent to that email and pays on their own device. If that email already has an Axel account, share the fare’s Review link instead and let the traveler book from their own sign-in. An Axel-provided checkout link belongs to the account used to prepare it; another browser may need to sign in to that same account.
