Axel's take: 7.2/10

Useful kitchens and a walkable location, but upkeep makes this a qualified pick. a simple, self-catering suite hotel in the Warehouse District, scored for what it is.

Plaza Suites is a simple apartment-style hotel, not the luxury resort its official website suggests. We'd consider it for a longer, self-catered stay: kitchens and separate living areas offer more flexibility than a standard room, and the Warehouse District location works well for the convention center, Riverwalk and French Quarter. Booking.com and Expedia guests generally praise cleanliness, helpful staff and convenience.

The catch is inconsistent upkeep. Guests describe dated interiors, variable room layouts and noise carrying between floors or from the street. More concerning, Tripadvisor reviews reported mice in 2025, and a July 2026 Booking.com review reproduced by Planet of Hotels mentions a mouse trap and stale odor. Those reports temper otherwise positive ratings. There's no on-site parking, housekeeping is limited, and reception isn't staffed around the clock. We'd skip it for polished surroundings or reliably full-service hospitality.

• Best for: travelers who want a kitchen; convention visitors without a car; longer stays prioritizing location

• Watch out for: recurring pest-related reports; dated rooms and variable noise; no on-site parking or round-the-clock reception

• Location: Walkable Warehouse District base near the convention center, casino and Riverwalk.

• Rooms: Kitchen-equipped suites with varied layouts; some loft units have internal stairs.

• Cleanliness: Strong aggregate ratings, but mouse and trap reports warrant caution.

• Service: Staff often earn praise; arrange arrival ahead because reception hours are limited.

• Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, laundry and a listed hot tub; a May 2026 guest reported nonworking jets.

• Fees and surprises: No on-site parking; limited housekeeping, early checkout and guest-reported resort fees—confirm booking terms.
