Axel's take: 7.5/10
Go for the cliffside setting and friendly staff, not polished rooms or elaborate dining. A simple 3-star cliffside resort with optional all-inclusive dining, scored for what it is.
Samsara is a simple 3-star cliffside resort that makes most sense for travelers who value sea views over polish. We'd shortlist it for a relaxed, good-value Negril stay: recent Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the welcoming staff, clean pools and sunset setting. Swimming and snorkeling are the draw, with a free shuttle to sister hotel Legends for sandy-beach time.
Room condition is uneven, with recurring reports of dated furnishings and tired linens; garden-side accommodation also means crossing West End Road to reach the waterfront. Food gets mixed reviews, particularly the limited all-inclusive selection, and bottled water, wine and snacks aren't included. The hotel currently lists Ciao Jamaica restaurant as temporarily closed. We'd lean toward room-only and local restaurants. Skip it if you want polished resort comforts, a beach outside your room or easy sea access for young children; there's no lifeguard.
