Axel's take: 6.9/10
Come for the beach and warm staff, not a polished five-star experience. An aging upscale, family-friendly all-inclusive on Seven Mile Beach, scored for what it is.
Azul is an upscale, family-friendly all-inclusive whose Seven Mile Beach setting outshines the hotel itself. We'd consider it for a beach-first holiday, rather than a luxury escape. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the clear water, soft sand and welcoming staff, including in recent reviews. Pools, swim-up bars and ocean-facing accommodation give it the ingredients for an easy Caribbean break.
The catch is consistency. Reviews across several sites describe dated rooms, worn outdoor furniture and maintenance shortcomings; recent Expedia guests still flag upkeep despite enjoying their stays. Food earns both enthusiastic praise and complaints about limited variety, while the hotel confirms restaurant schedules vary. Housekeeping is often praised, but cleanliness reports aren't uniformly strong. We'd skip it if reliably polished rooms, dependable facilities and destination-worthy dining are essential.
