#5 of 9 hotels in Piazza Garibaldi & Central Station by Axel's take. Piazza Garibaldi & Central Station is #7 of 7 places to stay in Naples. The best hotels in Piazza Garibaldi & Central Station, ranked · Where to stay in Naples

Axel's take: 7.6/10

A solid station-side base, with good breakfasts but an uninviting setting. a practical 4-star near Napoli Centrale, scored for what it is.

This practical 4-star near Napoli Centrale is a good pick for rail connections and sightseeing rather than a polished Naples escape. Booking.com and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff, clean rooms and fifth-floor breakfast with city views. Refurbished rooms strengthen the appeal, though the experience is more comfortable mid-range than upscale.

The main compromise is outside: guests across several sites describe the surrounding square as scruffy and sometimes uncomfortable, particularly after dark. Room sizes vary, and recurring soundproofing and bathroom complaints mean the four-star label needs some perspective. Guests reported facade work in May 2026 and renovations in June; completion is unconfirmed, so check before booking. We'd choose it for transport convenience, but skip it for a quiet, atmospheric neighborhood stay.

  • Best for: travelers arriving by train; sightseers using public transport; short, practical city stays

  • Watch out for: uninviting station-area surroundings; compact rooms and variable soundproofing; confirm renovation work has finished

  • Location: Walkable to Centrale and Garibaldi metro; surrounding streets divide guests, especially at night.

  • Rooms: Refurbished options earn praise, but smaller rooms, bathroom shortcomings and noise recur.

  • Cleanliness: Generally a strength across Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor feedback.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful reception and breakfast staff are recurring positives.

  • Amenities: Panoramic fifth-floor breakfast area, free Wi-Fi and a fitness center; no pool.

  • Fees and surprises: Breakfast may cost extra; nearby garage parking is paid, and advertised airport transfers need confirmation.
