#4 of 9 hotels in Via Toledo & Quartieri Spagnoli by Axel's take. Via Toledo & Quartieri Spagnoli is #2 of 7 places to stay in Naples. The best hotels in Via Toledo & Quartieri Spagnoli, ranked · Where to stay in Naples

Axel's take: 8.7/10

A strong Naples base, with helpful staff and rooftop views worth returning for. a comfortable 4-star city hotel beside Toledo metro, scored for what it is.

Grand Hotel Oriente is a comfortable 4-star city hotel just off Via Toledo, and a strong pick for exploring Naples without a car. Booking.com and Tripadvisor guests consistently praise clean rooms, helpful staff and the central location. The ninth-floor breakfast room and rooftop terrace are its standout features: proper places to pause between sightseeing, rather than just somewhere to eat.

The trade-offs are mostly about room choice. Some recent Expedia guests describe dated finishes, while noise complaints mention both the street and activity beneath the rooftop restaurant. Light sleepers should request a rear-facing room away from the dining floor. We'd skip it for a hushed luxury retreat, but recommend it for an active city break. Hilton is accepting reservations here as DoubleTree Naples Oriente from December 1, 2026; confirm arrangements for stays around the changeover.

  • Best for: first-time Naples visitors; couples on a city break; sightseers using public transport

  • Watch out for: street and rooftop-restaurant noise in some rooms; some dated room finishes; upcoming DoubleTree changeover

  • Location: Excellent for walking: Via Toledo and Toledo metro are close, with historic sights readily accessible.

  • Rooms: Generally comfortable and well equipped; condition varies, and quieter positioning is worth requesting.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Tripadvisor and Expedia guest feedback.

  • Service: Reception and restaurant staff repeatedly earn praise for helpful, friendly service.

  • Amenities: Ninth-floor restaurant, rooftop terrace and bar, free Wi-Fi and garage parking; confirm gym availability during the brand transition.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking costs extra, city tax applies, and breakfast inclusion depends on the booking; Hilton reservations begin December 1, 2026.
