Axel's take: 8.0/10

Comfortable apartments and a handy location, let down by unreliable digital access. a modern 4-star apartment hotel in Griffintown with digital-only reception, scored for what it is.

WERFY is a modern 4-star apartment hotel in Griffintown, better suited to independent stays than full-service luxury. We'd pick it for the practical comforts: equipped kitchens, in-unit laundry and room to settle in. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise cleanliness and location, while Tripadvisor reviewers also appreciate the comfortable apartments and nearby restaurants. It's a strong option for longer visits if you'd rather cook and unpack than rely on hotel services.

The main reservation is arrival and room access. Multiple 2026 reviews on Trip.com and Hotels.com describe failed digital keys and waits for assistance, although others report quick, helpful responses. There's no dedicated physical reception, and the other hotel's desk in the building isn't WERFY's. Parking is paid and availability draws repeated complaints. We'd skip it if dependable face-to-face help or guaranteed parking matters more than apartment conveniences.

• Best for: Longer stays with self-catering; Couples wanting apartment space; Independent travelers arriving without a car

• Watch out for: Recurring digital-key failures; No dedicated physical reception; Paid parking with limited availability

• Location: Well-liked Griffintown setting near restaurants, groceries and the Lachine Canal; convenient for walking toward downtown.

• Rooms: Modern apartments with kitchens, laundry and balconies; guests generally praise comfort and space.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across major booking sites, despite occasional housekeeping complaints.

• Service: Remote support earns praise for responsiveness, but repeated access problems expose inconsistent problem handling.

• Amenities: Kitchens, washer-dryers and Wi-Fi are the draw; don't assume access to a pool or gym.

• Fees and surprises: Parking costs extra; Hotels.com lists a deposit and a self-clean-or-pay checkout policy—confirm terms before arrival.
