Axel's take: 8.8/10

A strong Old Montréal base with spotless rooms and a standout rooftop pool. a modern 4-star on the eastern edge of Old Montréal, scored for what it is.

Hyatt Centric Montréal is a modern 4-star on Old Montréal’s eastern edge, and a strong pick for exploring the historic district without sleeping amid its busiest streets. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests consistently praise clean, roomy accommodation, comfortable beds and helpful staff. The heated rooftop pool, with river and city views, gives it an advantage over a straightforward city hotel.

The location favors Old Port sightseeing over downtown shopping, and the metro requires a short walk. Restaurant feedback is less consistent than room feedback, with some recent guests noting service coordination problems. Breakfast is not automatically included, parking costs extra, and Hyatt says the outdoor pool operates year-round only when weather permits. We’d skip it if you need doorstep transit or guaranteed swimming whatever the weather.

• Best for: couples exploring Old Montréal; families wanting comfortable city rooms; travelers who enjoy a rooftop pool

• Watch out for: weather-dependent rooftop pool; breakfast and parking can cost extra; short walk to the metro

• Location: Walkable to Old Port sights and restaurants; less convenient for downtown-focused stays.

• Rooms: Modern, comfortably sized rooms with mini-fridges; recent guests regularly praise comfort.

• Cleanliness: A clear strength, with consistently strong ratings and repeated recent praise.

• Service: Front-desk staff earn strong praise; restaurant service is occasionally less coordinated.

• Amenities: Heated outdoor rooftop pool, 24-hour gym, Cartier Arms restaurant and free Wi-Fi; no spa.

• Fees and surprises: Paid self-parking or valet, pet fees and a check-in deposit; breakfast inclusion depends on booking.
