A handy Montréal base with welcoming staff, but check room details and spa access. a small, independent 3-star near Sherbrooke métro, scored for what it is.

Hotel & Spa Carré Saint-Louis is a small, independent 3-star near Sherbrooke métro, better suited to exploring Montréal than expecting resort-style pampering. It’s a good pick for its walkable location, included continental breakfast and generally comfortable rooms, with kitchenettes in some categories. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise cleanliness and helpful staff; Booking.com’s strongest marks also go to location and service. The seasonal rooftop terrace adds appeal.

Choose your room carefully: sizes and layouts vary, and guest reviews flag noise in some rooms. Spa access costs extra on standard shorter stays; the hotel includes it only with qualifying packages or stays of at least five nights. Accessibility listings conflict, and the hotel’s own FAQ warns of stairs-only rooms. We’d skip it if step-free access or reliably quiet sleep is essential.

• Best for: car-free city explorers; couples wanting an optional spa visit; travelers seeking kitchenette rooms

• Watch out for: spa access usually costs extra; variable room sizes and noise; confirm stairs and assigned building

• Location: Near Sherbrooke métro and Carré Saint-Louis, with restaurants and shops within easy walking distance.

• Rooms: Comfortable overall, but layouts vary from compact rooms to kitchenette rooms and whirlpool suites.

• Cleanliness: Recent feedback is mostly positive, supported by strong cleanliness scores on Booking.com and Expedia.

• Service: Helpful, friendly staff are a recurring strength in recent guest reviews.

• Amenities: Continental breakfast, Wi-Fi, seasonal rooftop terrace and a thermal spa; check your room’s specific facilities.

• Fees and surprises: Paid parking is limited and requires reservation; a deposit applies, and thermal access is not included with most short stays.
