A reasonable overnight stop, but worn bathrooms and basic breakfast limit its appeal.
Stay Inn & Suites Montgomery is a no-frills budget hotel on Troy Highway, better suited to a driving stopover than a sightseeing stay. We'd consider it for a short, inexpensive stay: recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise friendly staff, comfortable beds and clean rooms, while Google and Tripadvisor feedback is more mixed. Free parking, in-room microwaves and mini-fridges add practical value, and there's a seasonal outdoor pool.
The main compromise is upkeep. Bathroom wear, peeling finishes and occasional mold complaints recur across sites, even among otherwise satisfied guests; cleanliness isn't uniformly reliable. The hotel advertises complimentary breakfast, but several guests describe a small takeaway bag rather than a proper spread. You'll want a car for restaurants and downtown attractions. We'd skip it for a longer leisure stay, or if fresh bathrooms and dependable breakfast matter more than saving money.
