#4 of 9 hotels in Duomo & Centro Storico by Axel's take. Duomo & Centro Storico is #1 of 11 places to stay in Milan. The best hotels in Duomo & Centro Storico, ranked · Where to stay in Milan
Axel's take: 8.7/10
A strong central Milan pick, with standout staff and breakfast but some compact rooms. a renovated contemporary 5-star near Milan’s Duomo, scored for what it is.
Tivoli President Milano is a contemporary five-star city hotel, formerly the NH Collection Milano President and fully refurbished in 2026. We’d choose it for a comfortable Milan break with the Duomo roughly ten minutes away on foot. Recent Tripadvisor, Expedia and Trip.com guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, clean rooms and the generous breakfast. The overall picture is reassuringly positive, particularly for travelers who value attentive service and a walkable base.
Room category matters: entry-level rooms can feel compact for five-star expectations, and cathedral views or terraces are not standard. The rooftop is advertised for private events on request, not as an everyday guest hangout. Parking is off-site and paid, with central Milan’s congestion charge another consideration. We’d skip it if you want guaranteed spaciousness or easy driving access.
-
Best for: first-time Milan visitors; couples on sightseeing breaks; travelers who prioritize attentive service
-
Watch out for: compact entry-level rooms; paid off-site parking and congestion charges; rooftop reserved for private events on request
-
Location: Walkable central base, roughly ten minutes from the Duomo and close to San Babila metro.
-
Rooms: Refurbished contemporary interiors; check room size and book a specific view or terrace category.
-
Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent guest feedback, including strong Booking.com and Expedia category ratings.
-
Service: Warm, helpful reception, concierge and breakfast teams receive repeated praise across sites.
-
Amenities: Restaurant, lobby bar and Technogym fitness room; rooftop access is for private events on request.
