#2 of 7 hotels in Magenta & Sant'Ambrogio by Axel's take. Magenta & Sant'Ambrogio is #2 of 11 places to stay in Milan. The best hotels in Magenta & Sant'Ambrogio, ranked · Where to stay in Milan
Axel's take: 8.6/10
A welcoming central base with strong housekeeping; choose your room carefully. A small independent 4-star in Milan’s historic center, scored for what it is.
Hotel Regina is a small independent 4-star that makes a strong case for choosing comfort and personal service over big-hotel facilities. It’s well placed for walking between the Duomo and Navigli, with De Amicis metro nearby for Linate Airport. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff, clean rooms and comfortable beds. The hotel says rooms were recently renovated; breakfast, a lobby bar and a small garden round out an appealing sightseeing base.
The main compromise is space: entry-level rooms, especially singles, can feel compact. Street-facing rooms have attracted tram-noise complaints, so light sleepers should request the rear rather than assume every room is quiet. Roadworks mentioned in summer reviews reportedly finished on October 2, 2026. We’d choose it for a city break, but skip it if spacious rooms or extensive leisure facilities are priorities.
