#7 of 9 hotels in Porta Romana by Axel's take. Porta Romana is #9 of 11 places to stay in Milan. The best hotels in Porta Romana, ranked · Where to stay in Milan
Axel's take: 7.8/10
A practical Milan base with helpful staff, compact rooms and easy tram access. A simple independent 3-star in residential southeast Milan, scored for what it is.
Hotel Mec is a straightforward 3-star for travelers who want a clean, well-connected base rather than a city-center address. We'd consider it for a short sightseeing or work trip: Booking.com guests repeatedly praise the staff and housekeeping, and Expedia reviews also highlight friendly service and comfortable basics. The tram outside is its biggest practical advantage, with Lodi T.I.B.B. metro within walking distance. A garden and complimentary lobby hot drinks are useful extras.
The compromises are space and consistency. Recent guests mention small rooms, some older furnishings and occasional noise through the walls, despite the hotel's soundproofing claims. Parking needs advance confirmation, particularly for larger vehicles. We'd skip it if you want generous rooms, dependable hush or Milan's main sights immediately outside; otherwise, it's a sensible, unpretentious option.
