#8 of 9 hotels in Stazione Centrale by Axel's take. Stazione Centrale is #8 of 11 places to stay in Milan. The best hotels in Stazione Centrale, ranked · Where to stay in Milan

Axel's take: 8.1/10

A comfortable station-side choice with old-fashioned style and a new rooftop. a traditional 4-star business hotel near Milano Centrale, scored for what it is.

Doria Grand is a traditional 4-star near Milano Centrale, strongest as a comfortable base for train trips and exploring Milan by metro. We'd choose it for practical convenience rather than cutting-edge design: expect rich fabrics, dark wood and classic bathrooms. Expedia and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise cleanliness, comfortable rooms and breakfast, while recent Tripadvisor reviews also highlight spacious, quiet accommodation. The 12th-floor rooftop, opened in September 2026, adds a welcome place for skyline drinks.

The trade-off is uneven polish. Some interiors feel dated, and recent Tripadvisor guests describe inconsistent reception and problem handling, despite broadly positive service feedback elsewhere. The hotel itself warns that restaurant and bar hours vary, so check before planning an evening in. We'd skip it if contemporary rooms or walking straight into Milan's main sights matter most.

  • Best for: travelers using Milano Centrale; business travelers; couples who like traditional decor

  • Watch out for: dated interiors in places; variable restaurant and bar hours; occasional reception-service lapses

  • Location: Walkable to Centrale, Caiazzo and Loreto; main historic sights are better reached by metro.

  • Rooms: Generally comfortable and generously sized, with traditional furnishings; rear-facing rooms receive praise for quiet.

  • Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback across booking sites, with occasional recent bathroom-maintenance complaints.

  • Service: Usually praised as helpful, though some recent Tripadvisor guests report poor complaint handling.

  • Amenities: Breakfast buffet, free Wi-Fi, restaurant, bar and a rooftop opened in September 2026.

  • Fees and surprises: City tax is extra; garage parking and airport transfers carry charges, and dining hours can vary.
