#3 of 9 hotels in Stazione Centrale by Axel's take. Stazione Centrale is #8 of 11 places to stay in Milan. The best hotels in Stazione Centrale, ranked · Where to stay in Milan

Axel's take: 8.8/10

A dependable station-side choice, strongest on service, cleanliness and breakfast. a traditional 4-star near Milano Centrale, with a separate 3-star annex, scored for what it is.

Hotel Berna is a traditional 4-star a few minutes’ walk from Milano Centrale, and we'd put it high on the list for rail-based trips. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff, clean rooms and generous breakfast; Booking.com’s strong ratings reinforce that picture. Free soft drinks from the minibar and round-the-clock lobby tea and coffee are thoughtful extras. It delivers comfortable, practical hospitality rather than a luxury experience.

Choose the room category carefully. Some rooms still draw comments about dated decor, compact showers and tight space, while the hotel advertises newer Deluxe and Superior options. Berna Tower bookings are in a separate, officially 3-star annex across the street. Check whether breakfast is included. We'd skip it if spacious rooms or having the Duomo immediately outside matter more than easy train connections.

Best for: rail travelers and stopovers; sightseers planning day trips; travelers who value helpful service
Watch out for: some compact rooms and showers; older decor in some categories; separate 3-star Berna Tower annex
Location: A short walk from Centrale’s trains and metro; convenient for connections rather than doorstep Duomo sightseeing.
Rooms: Generally comfortable, but size and finish vary; newer Deluxe and Superior categories deserve consideration.
Cleanliness: Consistently strong feedback across Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia.
Service: Helpful reception and breakfast staff are recurring strengths in recent reviews.
Amenities: Buffet breakfast, lounge bar, free Wi-Fi, complimentary minibar soft drinks and 24-hour lobby tea and coffee.
Fees and surprises: Breakfast is not included in every rate; Berna Tower is a separate 3-star building across the street.
