#4 of 7 hotels in Magenta & Sant'Ambrogio by Axel's take. Magenta & Sant'Ambrogio is #2 of 11 places to stay in Milan. The best hotels in Magenta & Sant'Ambrogio, ranked · Where to stay in Milan
Axel's take: 7.8/10
A practical central base, stronger on cleanliness and location than space or polished service. an independent 4-star city hotel near Milan’s Duomo, scored for what it is.
Hotel Ariston is an independent 4-star in central Milan, roughly a ten-minute walk from the Duomo. It’s a good pick for sightseeing rather than a hotel-led getaway: Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise the cleanliness, convenient location and breakfast. The hotel says its rooms were renovated in 2021, and the panoramic rooftop adds somewhere pleasant to pause between outings.
The compromises are room size and uneven service. Several guests describe cramped rooms, while recent Expedia feedback ranges from warmly helpful staff to brusque treatment and charges for small requests. We’d choose it for a short city break, but skip it if spacious accommodation and consistently polished four-star service matter most. Older reviews mention Via Torino tram construction; Milan’s municipality confirms the street reopened on September 14, 2026.
-

-

-

-
Service: Often praised as helpful, but recent reviews show inconsistent warmth and flexibility.
-
Amenities: Panoramic rooftop, guest bar, buffet breakfast and free Wi-Fi; more city base than full-service retreat.
-
