#9 of 9 hotels in Porta Nuova & Isola by Axel's take. Porta Nuova & Isola is #6 of 11 places to stay in Milan. The best hotels in Porta Nuova & Isola, ranked · Where to stay in Milan
Axel's take: 7.7/10
A practical Milan base with friendly staff, but breakfast and room choice matter. a compact, modern 4-star near Repubblica and Porta Nuova, scored for what it is.
Heart Hotel Milano is a compact, modern 4-star that makes more sense as a city-break base than a hotel to linger in. We'd pick it for convenient transport, access to Porta Nuova and generally well-kept rooms. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise cleanliness and helpful reception staff, while Booking.com guests rate service particularly strongly. It's a good fit for travelers spending most of their time exploring Milan.
The trade-offs are room size, variable quiet and an underwhelming breakfast. Tripadvisor feedback is notably more critical than Booking.com's, with repeated reservations about breakfast and some cramped rooms. Street-facing rooms can pick up tram rumble, although other guests report good soundproofing. We'd request a quieter room and check its size before booking. Skip it if you expect generous space, a substantial breakfast or full-service four-star polish.
-
Best for: short city breaks; business travelers; sightseers using public transport
-
Watch out for: tram noise in street-facing rooms; some compact rooms; mixed breakfast feedback
-
Location: Near Repubblica metro, with tram connections and convenient access to Porta Nuova and Garibaldi.
-
Rooms: Modern styling and generally comfortable rooms; size and noise exposure vary by allocation.
-
Cleanliness: Mostly praised on Booking.com and in recent Expedia reviews, despite occasional complaints elsewhere.
-
Service: Helpful reception staff are a recurring strength; the hotel confirms a 24-hour desk.
-
Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, paid breakfast and arranged transfers; better suited to a practical stay than extensive facilities.
-
Fees and surprises: Budget for breakfast and city tax; confirm pet rules directly because official and booking-site policies disagree.
