Axel's take: 7.8/10

Strong beach-and-dining appeal, but the luxury experience isn't consistently polished. A Japanese-styled luxury hotel within the beachfront Eden Roc resort, scored for what it is.

Nobu is a Japanese-styled luxury hotel within the larger Eden Roc resort, rather than an intimate standalone retreat. It's a good pick for travelers who want beachfront downtime, comfortable rooms and Nobu dining without leaving the property. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, clean rooms and beach access. The Nobu-exclusive adults-only pool adds a quieter option alongside the shared resort facilities.

The reservations are about consistency, not a lack of amenities. Guests on both sites describe occasional service lapses and worn room details—more disappointing at this level than at a mid-range resort. A mandatory resort fee, paid valet parking and an incidental hold also deserve attention. Mid-Beach suits a resort-focused stay, but we'd skip it for walk-everywhere South Beach nightlife or reliably seamless five-star service.

• Best for: Couples wanting beach and pool time; Nobu dining enthusiasts; Travelers happy to stay mostly on-property

• Watch out for: Uneven service and occasional room wear; Resort fee, paid valet and incidental hold; Removed from South Beach nightlife

• Location: Beachfront in Mid-Beach, with boardwalk access; South Beach is about three miles away.

• Rooms: Comfort and space earn praise, though some recent guests flag worn furnishings and maintenance details.

• Cleanliness: Generally a strength in recent Expedia reviews, despite some contrary Tripadvisor reports.

• Service: Many staff earn enthusiastic praise, but arrival assistance and follow-through can be uneven.

• Amenities: Shared Eden Roc facilities, a Nobu-exclusive adults-only pool, Nobu dining, spa and fitness center.

• Fees and surprises: Mandatory resort fee includes beach loungers and spa amenities; valet costs extra and a daily incidental hold applies.
