A strong downtown base for the money, provided quiet nights aren’t your priority. A simple 3-star hotel in Mérida’s historic center, scored for what it is.

Hotel Colonial is a simple 3-star in Mérida’s historic center, and we’d pick it for sightseeing without spending on unnecessary extras. Plaza Grande, the cathedral and Santa Lucía’s restaurants are an easy walk away. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, helpful staff and the breakfast buffet. Expedia lists a 2024 remodel, and recent guests generally describe comfortable rooms with effective air-conditioning. The small pool and rooftop terrace are useful bonuses rather than reasons to book.

The trade-off is the busy downtown setting: guests have reported traffic and late-night music, so light sleepers should request a quieter room.
