Axel's take: 7.7/10
A well-located downtown base with helpful staff, but uneven bathroom upkeep. A practical 3-star hotel in central Mendoza, scored for what it is.
Hotel Mendoza is a practical 3-star downtown hotel, and we'd choose it for exploring rather than lingering indoors. Its position near Peatonal Sarmiento and Independence Square is the strongest selling point. Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, while recent Expedia reviews also highlight clean rooms and a generous breakfast. The upper-floor El Mirador restaurant adds city views to an otherwise straightforward stay.
The main compromise is uneven room condition: several 2025–2026 Expedia guests mention aging bathrooms, leaks or maintenance needs, although many others find their rooms comfortable. The small indoor pool is a bonus, not a reason to book; Expedia says it is unheated and closes during July. It's a good fit for sightseeing and wine-tour outings. We'd skip it if modern bathrooms or a substantial swimming pool are priorities.
