#2 of 3 hotels in Graceland & Whitehaven by Axel's take. Graceland & Whitehaven is #6 of 7 places to stay in Memphis. The best hotels in Graceland & Whitehaven, ranked · Where to stay in Memphis

Axel's take: 5.7/10

Graceland convenience is the draw; uneven upkeep is the catch. a budget 2-star motel within walking distance of Graceland, scored for what it is.

This budget 2-star motel makes sense mainly for Elvis fans who prioritize walking to Graceland over dependable comfort. Free parking, light breakfast and in-room microwaves and fridges cover the basics. Expedia guests praise some refreshed rooms and helpful staff, but its overall guest rating remains weak. We'd treat it as a location-first compromise, not an easy budget recommendation.

The refurbishment hasn't delivered consistent results: recent Tripadvisor and Travelocity guests still report damp smells, poor maintenance and uneven cleaning, alongside others finding clean, comfortable rooms. Breakfast is basic. Don't count on the guitar-shaped outdoor pool without checking: closure reports and contradictory opening information make availability uncertain. Elvis Presley Boulevard construction is also ongoing as of October 2026. We'd skip it if reliable housekeeping, polished facilities or pool time matter more than proximity to Graceland.

  • Best for: Elvis fans prioritizing Graceland access; Short stays with modest expectations

  • Watch out for: Uneven cleaning and damp-smelling rooms; Uncertain outdoor pool availability; Elvis Presley Boulevard construction

  • Location: Walkable to Graceland; ongoing boulevard construction complicates the otherwise convenient setting.

  • Rooms: Some refreshed rooms earn praise, but maintenance problems and damp odors recur.

  • Cleanliness: Clean-room praise sits alongside recent reports of dirty floors, mildew and missed housekeeping.

  • Service: Many guests praise helpful staff, though reception and problem handling are inconsistent.

  • Amenities: Free light breakfast, Wi-Fi and parking; microwaves and fridges; seasonal outdoor pool, not an indoor pool.

  • Fees and surprises: Pets incur extra fees; no elevator, and pool opening information conflicts across listings.
