The Olsen is an art-themed, five-star aparthotel whose strongest selling point is Chapel Street, not flawless luxury. We'd pick it for a neighbourhood stay built around restaurants, shopping and easy train trips into central Melbourne. John Olsen artworks give it character, while kitchenettes make the suites practical for longer visits. Expedia and Booking.com guests consistently praise the location, comfortable beds and helpful staff; cleanliness is generally well rated too.

The caveat is condition: recent Accor and Expedia guests describe rooms needing a refresh, with chipped fittings and maintenance niggles.
