Axel's take: 8.9/10

A dependable apartment base with standout staff and easy tram connections. a modern 4-star apartment hotel on Melbourne's St Kilda Road, scored for what it is.

Quest St Kilda Road is a modern 4-star apartment hotel that gets the practical essentials right. We'd pick it for a longer stay or visits to the Alfred Hospital: Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise helpful staff, cleanliness and comfortable beds. Studios have kitchenettes; one- and two-bedroom apartments add full kitchens and private laundry facilities. Nearby trams make the city accessible without staying in the CBD.

The trade-offs are room choice and extras. Entry-level studios are compact, parking costs extra and is subject to availability, and a security deposit applies. Nearby construction disturbed guests in 2025 and again in March 2026; confirm its current status and request a room away from the works. We'd skip it if you want central-city bustle on your doorstep, but it's a strong choice for practical, self-catering comfort.

  • Best for: longer self-catering stays; Alfred Hospital visitors; business travelers using trams

  • Watch out for: nearby construction reported; confirm current status; compact entry-level studios; paid parking and security deposit

  • Location: Outside the CBD, with nearby trams and convenient access to the Alfred Hospital and Albert Park.

  • Rooms: Comfortable, modern accommodation; studios have kitchenettes, larger apartments have full kitchens and laundries.

  • Cleanliness: Strong praise across major review sites; isolated lapses do not define the overall picture.

  • Service: Friendly, accommodating staff are the most consistently praised feature.

  • Amenities: Gym, free Wi-Fi and guest laundry; breakfast options and restaurant chargebacks rather than a full-service dining focus.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking is paid and availability-limited; a deposit applies, and nearby construction warrants checking before booking.
