#3 of 9 hotels in Gueliz by Axel's take. Gueliz is #5 of 8 places to stay in Marrakech. The best hotels in Gueliz, ranked · Where to stay in Marrakech

Axel's take: 8.2/10

A comfortable Guéliz base, strongest on staff and location rather than breakfast. a mid-range city hotel in Guéliz with a rooftop pool and spa, scored for what it is.

Stars Hotel is a mid-range city hotel in Guéliz, and it's a strong pick if you want Marrakech's cafés and shops nearby rather than a riad inside the medina. Tripadvisor and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff, clean rooms and generous space. The rooftop pool and spa add useful downtime between outings, making this a well-rounded city-break base rather than a luxury retreat.

The recurring compromises are traffic noise and an uneven breakfast: recent guests across several sites mention limited variety, although others enjoy the freshly made omelettes. Jemaa el-Fnaa is roughly a 20–30-minute walk away, not on the doorstep. We'd skip it for guaranteed quiet or old-town atmosphere. If your arrival date changes, contact the hotel promptly; separate reviews describe prepaid rooms being released after a missed first night.

  • Best for: couples on a city break; travelers who prefer Guéliz; sightseers wanting pool and spa access

  • Watch out for: traffic noise in some rooms; inconsistent breakfast variety; strict missed-arrival handling

  • Location: Convenient for Guéliz cafés and shops; allow roughly 20–30 minutes to walk to Jemaa el-Fnaa.

  • Rooms: Often praised as spacious and comfortable, with balconies in some categories; street noise can intrude.

  • Cleanliness: Generally a strength across guest ratings and recent reviews, despite occasional housekeeping or maintenance lapses.

  • Service: Warm, helpful staff earn consistent praise; missed-arrival disputes warrant confirming any itinerary changes.

  • Amenities: Rooftop outdoor pool, spa with heated indoor pool and hammam, Pensée restaurant and free Wi-Fi.

  • Fees and surprises: City tax is payable locally; airport transfers cost extra, and Expedia lists no on-site parking.
