#2 of 3 hotels in Palmeraie by Axel's take. Palmeraie is #8 of 8 places to stay in Marrakech. The best hotels in Palmeraie, ranked · Where to stay in Marrakech

Axel's take: 8.7/10

A strong poolside retreat, provided you’re happy relying on taxis. A quiet 4-star villa-and-boutique-hotel estate in the Palmeraie, scored for what it is.

Dar Lamia is a 4-star estate of hotel rooms, apartments and villas in Marrakech’s Palmeraie, better suited to slowing down than sightseeing on foot. It’s a strong pick for spacious accommodation, landscaped gardens and relaxed pool days. Tripadvisor, Expedia and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise the warm, helpful staff; recent reviews also applaud the Moroccan cooking and spa.

The main compromise is distance: guests commonly report a 20–30-minute drive to the medina, so budget time for taxis. Accommodation is less consistent than the grounds: some recent guests describe dated fittings or disappointing kitchen cleanliness, although overall feedback remains strongly positive. Villa renovations were reported in late 2025; confirm whether any work affects your chosen unit. We’d skip it for a walk-everywhere city break or uniformly polished luxury.

  • Best for: Families and friends wanting villa space; Couples prioritizing pool and spa time; Travelers mixing sightseeing with downtime

  • Watch out for: Taxis needed for medina visits; Variable villa condition and kitchen cleanliness; Confirm nearby villa renovation work

  • Location: Palmeraie setting outside central Marrakech; guests typically report 20–30 minutes to the medina by car.

  • Rooms: Spacious, Moroccan-style rooms, apartments and villas; some villas have private pools, but condition varies.

  • Cleanliness: Mostly positive overall, with several recent exceptions involving kitchens, dust or housekeeping.

  • Service: Warm, attentive staff and helpful transport arrangements are the most consistent strengths across sites.

  • Amenities: Large communal pool with a heated section, children’s pool, restaurant, bar and hammam spa.

  • Fees and surprises: Free parking; airport transfers and spa treatments cost extra, and breakfast may be additional; city tax applies.
