Axel's take: 7.3/10

Good for pool days, less convincing as a five-star luxury stay. a five-star resort-style hotel in Agdal, outside the medina, scored for what it is.

Palm Plaza is a five-star resort-style hotel in Agdal that makes more sense for pool days than medina immersion. We'd consider it for a relaxed family break: Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the large pool, spacious rooms and entertainment team, while Booking.com scores cleanliness strongly. Recent Expedia reviews also include plenty of praise for helpful staff. The spa and gym add appeal beyond sightseeing.

The reservation is five-star consistency. Across Tripadvisor and Expedia, dated rooms and uneven service recur, and buffet food divides opinion. Cleanliness is generally a strength, rather than a persistent problem, but room condition appears less dependable. Budget for taxis to the old city; the nearby mall is more convenient on foot. We'd skip it for polished luxury or a walk-everywhere Marrakech stay.

• Best for: families wanting pool time; travelers mixing sightseeing with downtime; guests who prefer staying outside the medina

• Watch out for: dated rooms and uneven service; mixed buffet feedback; taxis needed for medina visits

• Location: Agdal location near Al Mazar Mall; the medina is better reached by taxi.

• Rooms: Generally spacious and comfortable, but recurring feedback points to tired decor and variable upkeep.

• Cleanliness: Mostly praised across sites, with occasional lapses rather than a dominant negative pattern.

• Service: Many staff receive warm praise, though responsiveness is not consistently five-star.

• Amenities: Large outdoor pool, children's facilities, gym and spa with hammam; confirm spa inclusions before booking.

• Fees and surprises: City tax is payable at the property; parking is listed as free. One January 2026 guest reported overnight construction, but ongoing works were not confirmed.
