#8 of 8 hotels in Agdal by Axel's take. Agdal is #7 of 8 places to stay in Marrakech. The best hotels in Agdal, ranked · Where to stay in Marrakech

Axel's take: 6.2/10

Family-friendly pools are the draw, but don't expect dependable five-star standards. a large family pool resort in Agdal, marketed as five-star but uneven in delivery, scored for what it is.

Grand Mogador Aqua Resort is a large family resort in Agdal whose pools and spacious balcony rooms make a stronger case than its five-star label. We'd consider it for a pool-focused family break with flexible expectations. Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the slides, children's activities and individual staff members; Booking.com's 6.8 overall rating better captures the mixed experience than the glossy photographs.

The compromises are substantial: recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests report inconsistent housekeeping, worn bathrooms, towel shortages and uneven reception service, alongside genuinely happy stays. Guests reported flooring work in April and August 2026, and some slides closed in July; completion and full availability remain unverified. Confirm both before booking, plus seasonal slide operation and indoor-pool charges. We'd skip it for polished luxury, reliable room upkeep or a sightseeing trip centered on walking around the medina.

  • Best for: families prioritizing pools and slides; travelers comfortable with uneven resort standards

  • Watch out for: inconsistent housekeeping and maintenance; recent flooring work and slide closures; current status unconfirmed; seasonal slides and extra-cost indoor pool

  • Location: Agdal rather than the medina; guests report a free city shuttle and a walkable shopping center.

  • Rooms: Spacious rooms with balconies, but recurring reports of worn bathrooms and maintenance faults.

  • Cleanliness: Mixed: clean-room praise sits alongside repeated recent complaints about missed cleaning and towels.

  • Service: Activities staff earn praise; reception responsiveness and problem handling are less consistent.

  • Amenities: Outdoor pools, slides and a spa are advertised; confirm slide availability for your dates.

  • Fees and surprises: Indoor-pool and spa access can cost extra; city tax applies, and breakfast depends on the booking.
