Axel's take: 7.9/10

A practical Mall of Asia base, with helpful staff but rooms showing their age. A large, no-frills 3-star near Mall of Asia, scored for what it is.

Hotel101 Manila is a large, no-frills 3-star that makes sense for Mall of Asia shopping, concerts and convention trips. We'd pick it for convenience and friendly service rather than polished interiors. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the staff, while the queen-and-single bed setup is useful for small families. An outdoor pool and an on-site restaurant add welcome extras for this class.

The main compromise is condition: recent feedback describes comfortable, clean rooms alongside worn furnishings and uneven maintenance. More importantly, Booking.com currently flags 15th-floor renovations, expected to finish in the last week of October 2026; a September guest also reported construction disturbing their morning. Confirm completion before booking if daytime quiet matters. It's a sensible short-stay choice, but we'd skip it for a restful staycation or consistently fresh interiors.

• Best for: Mall of Asia concertgoers; SMX convention visitors; Small families on a budget

• Watch out for: 15th-floor renovation noise; Worn furnishings and uneven maintenance; Compact rooms for three

• Location: Convenient walking access to Mall of Asia, with SMX and event venues nearby.

• Rooms: Compact 21-square-meter rooms pair a queen and single bed; condition varies.

• Cleanliness: Generally positive recent feedback, though housekeeping and upkeep are not uniformly strong.

• Service: Helpful, courteous staff are the most consistent strength across review sites.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, children's pool, restaurant and Wi-Fi; complimentary parking subject to availability.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast inclusion depends on the booking; confirm renovation completion and any incidental deposit.
