Axel's take: 8.9/10

A strong luxury pick for Mall of Asia, but check the bay view. a modern five-star luxury hotel beside Mall of Asia, scored for what it is.

Conrad Manila is a modern five-star hotel that makes particular sense for Mall of Asia shopping, arena events and SMX conventions. We'd choose it for the combination of spacious, comfortable rooms, dependable cleanliness and genuinely warm service: Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise all three. The breakfast buffet earns especially consistent approval, while the outdoor pool, spa and mall connections make staying on-site easy.

The main caveat is the waterfront setting. Recent Tripadvisor and Reddit reports describe Manila Bay reclamation works compromising the advertised outlook; confirm the current view before paying extra for a bay-facing room. Occasional room-readiness and front-desk lapses also surface, though praise substantially outweighs complaints. It's a strong pick for this part of Pasay, but we'd skip it if an uninterrupted sea view is the reason for booking.

• Best for: Mall of Asia shopping and arena events; SMX convention attendees; Families wanting full-service comfort

• Watch out for: Bay reclamation works affecting views; Occasional room-readiness delays; Breakfast not included in every booking

• Location: Connected mall access and proximity to SMX and the arena are the biggest practical advantages.

• Rooms: Spacious and comfortable; confirm the actual outlook of any bay-view category.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor feedback.

• Service: Warm, attentive staff draw widespread praise, with occasional front-desk inconsistencies.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, spa, 24-hour gym, restaurants and an executive lounge.

• Fees and surprises: Self-parking is free; breakfast, valet parking and airport transfers can cost extra.
