Axel's take: 8.7/10
A strong airport stopover with standout service, though rooms are compact. A small, simple airport-stopover hotel in Hulhumalé, scored for what it is.
Samann Host is a small, simple hotel in Hulhumalé, best treated as a comfortable airport stopover rather than a Maldives resort. It's a strong pick before or after an island stay: Tripadvisor, Expedia and Trip.com guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, well-organized complimentary airport transfers and clean rooms. The beach and nearby cafés are an easy walk, and breakfast earns plenty of praise, with guests reporting ocean-view dining at sister hotel Ocean Grand nearby.
The main compromise is space: several guests describe compact rooms, and a balcony requires choosing the right category. Booking.com's relatively weak Wi-Fi rating also makes it less convincing for working remotely. Some guests mention poor soundproofing, though service attracts much more consistent praise. We'd choose it for a convenient short stay, but skip it for spacious rooms or a self-contained beach holiday.
