Hotels in Madridan upscale 4-star in a historic Chamberí residence
8.8/10
A strong Chamberí base for attentive service and breakfast, with room choice worth considering.
NH Collection Madrid Abascal is an upscale 4-star in a historic Chamberí residence, and a strong pick for comfort outside Madrid’s busiest tourist streets. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise helpful staff, clean rooms and comfortable beds; breakfast earns particularly enthusiastic feedback. We’d choose it for a business trip or a neighborhood-focused city break, with restaurants nearby and metro connections for sightseeing.
Room choice matters: some guests describe compact, dim inward-facing rooms, while others report traffic or lift noise. Ask for a quiet room away from the lifts and clarify its outlook. An Expedia guest reported construction next door during April 2026; whether it continues is unconfirmed, so check before booking. There’s a gym and terrace, but no pool or spa. We’d skip it if doorstep access to the main tourist sights is your priority.

Best for: business travelers near Castellana; couples exploring local neighborhoods; travelers who prioritize service and breakfast
Watch out for: variable room size, daylight and noise; not in the main tourist core; neighboring construction reported in April 2026; current status unconfirmed
Location: Chamberí restaurants and nearby metro stations suit neighborhood stays better than sightseeing entirely on foot.
Rooms: Comfortable beds and coffee machines; some rooms are compact or inward-facing, with occasional noise complaints.
Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor guest feedback.
Service: Friendly, attentive staff are the most consistent highlight across recent reviews.
Amenities: Restaurant, bar, terrace and complimentary gym; the hotel explicitly confirms no pool or spa.
Fees and surprises: Breakfast inclusion depends on the booking; parking and pets cost extra, and parking cannot be reserved ahead.
