Axel's take: 8.8/10
A strong central hostel for sociable travelers, less convincing for light sleepers. a social budget hostel with dorms and private rooms in central Madrid, scored for what it is.
2060 is a budget hostel, not a conventional two-star hotel, and it delivers well on the essentials. We'd pick it for exploring Madrid affordably while having easy ways to meet people: Tirso de Molina metro is nearby, Sol is walkable, and the rooftop bar and organized activities give the place a social focus. Recent Hostelworld and Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, comfortable curtained bunks and clean facilities. A shared kitchen adds practical value.
The main compromise is sleep. Trip.com guests repeatedly mention noise, including rooftop activity and late-night conversations; a private room doesn't necessarily solve the soundproofing. Bathrooms can be compact, and towels cost extra unless your booking includes them. We'd recommend it to independent travelers comfortable with hostel life, but skip it if quiet evenings and hotel-style privacy are priorities.
-

-
Location: Central base near Tirso de Molina metro, within walking distance of Sol and Plaza Mayor.
-
Rooms: Curtained dorm bunks and private options; beds earn praise, but soundproofing is a weakness.

-
Service: Helpful, welcoming staff are a consistent strength across recent reviews; reception operates around the clock.
-
