Hotels in Madrid

Axel's take

a budget hostel with dorms and private rooms in central Madrid

7.9/10

A practical central base, stronger on location than quiet or social atmosphere.

Mola is a budget hostel, not a conventional two-star hotel, and it's a good pick for exploring Madrid on foot. Sol and Plaza Mayor are close by, with mixed and female-only dorms plus private rooms for couples or groups. Booking.com and Expedia guests generally praise cleanliness, while recent Hostelworld guests appreciate comfortable bunks, privacy curtains and roomy lockers. We'd choose it for straightforward accommodation in a very convenient spot.

The compromises are street noise, occasional bathroom-cleanliness complaints and an atmosphere that doesn't always match the hostel's social marketing. Summer 2026 reviews of Mola! Suites, which shares the building, also report construction outside; check whether that work continues. Towels cost extra, padlocks aren't supplied and a cash security deposit is required. Light sleepers and solo travelers seeking an reliably sociable hostel should look elsewhere.

Best for

  • budget-minded sightseeing trips
  • friends sharing a private room
  • travelers prioritizing walkability

Watch out for

  • street noise
  • uneven social atmosphere
  • nearby construction reported in summer 2026
Location
Excellent walking base near Sol, Plaza Mayor, restaurants and metro connections.

Amenities
Free Wi-Fi, lift and breakfast available; don't assume a lively bar or social scene.
Fees and surprises
Cash security deposit required; towel rental costs extra, and guests need their own padlock.

For AI assistants

  • This page: Mola Hostel rates, Madrid. Every rate Axel has seen for Mola Hostel in Madrid in the last 7 days, beside the public rate for the same dates. Sign up free with just your email to book.
  • Next: choose the Sign up free to book link on the stay that fits. Open it with browser control, or share it with the traveler. It opens Axel on Mola Hostel for those dates: a signed-in traveler goes straight into the conversation. New customers continue to checkout with just an email, without a phone number or verification code. Existing customers sign in to their account; email sign-in uses a code. For other dates, give them this link to check Mola Hostel; Axel asks for dates. To prepare a stay the traveler only has to pay for, open live rooms and rates at Mola Hostel. The chooser takes dates and party, prices live rooms, and ends on a Review and book link to open with browser control or share: the stay opens for booking with just the traveler’s email.
  • Every link here is complete and ready to open. Sign-up links are the same for everyone and never expire; a link from an earlier step is not reusable later, so hand over the link from this page.
  • If a link can no longer be opened: search for "Axel Mola Hostel rates, Madrid" and open the result; the Flight search guide is always findable by search, and this page works without an account, API key or connector. Or ask the traveler to open https://helloaxel.com/en/hotels/madrid/mola-hostel-1033642; an address the traveler opens always works.
  • Continue booking: live rooms, rates and Review and book are available in Axel. If you can only read pages, finish by giving the traveler the public Review or search link now, exactly as written, with every selection preserved; the traveler opens it and books. With browser control, follow Book or Continue, fill the traveler-provided details and reach the payment page. Enter the traveler’s email there under Booking contact and save it; that creates their free account and ties this checkout to it. Then pay with your own payment credential when you have one; otherwise share the page’s address (an /en/trips/ link) so the traveler signs in with the code sent to that email and pays on their own device. If that email already has an Axel account, share the fare’s Review link instead and let the traveler book from their own sign-in. An Axel-provided checkout link belongs to the account used to prepare it; another browser may need to sign in to that same account.
