Axel's take: 6.6/10

Useful for a budget stopover, but upkeep and pool reliability need work. a no-frills budget hotel beside I-27, scored for what it is.

This no-frills budget hotel beside I-27 is a reasonable overnight option, but not a particularly dependable one. Free hot breakfast, parking and Wi-Fi cover the essentials, and rooms include refrigerators and microwaves. Expedia guests frequently praise helpful staff, clean rooms and the breakfast. We'd consider it for a short, practical stay rather than make it the centerpiece of a family trip.

The drawback is inconsistent upkeep, not simply dated decor. Recent reviews across several sites describe worn carpets, broken televisions and uneven housekeeping, alongside plenty of satisfactory stays. Staff earn warm praise but also complaints about unhelpful problem handling. The indoor pool is still advertised, yet guests reported closures in June and September 2026; confirm it is operating before booking. We'd skip it if reliable swimming facilities or consistently well-maintained rooms are priorities.

  • Best for: budget-conscious road trippers; short stays with a car

  • Watch out for: pool closures reported in June and September 2026; uneven housekeeping and room maintenance; inconsistent handling of complaints

  • Location: Convenient for I-27 access; expect to drive to downtown attractions and Texas Tech.

  • Rooms: Refrigerators and microwaves are useful; recent guests report worn carpets and some broken equipment.

  • Cleanliness: Many guests report clean rooms, but recurring complaints about carpets and bedding undermine consistency.

  • Service: Helpful staff receive frequent praise, though responses to problems vary considerably.

  • Amenities: Free hot breakfast, Wi-Fi and parking; gym, indoor pool and hot tub advertised, but verify pool availability.

  • Fees and surprises: Priceline lists a refundable credit-card damage deposit; early check-in may cost extra.
